This patriotic painting commemorates the heroic midnight ride of 16 year old Sybil Ludington in 1777. She rode twice as far as Paul Revere that stormy night in April to muster the militia, warning them of a British attack on Danbury, Connecticut. She returned home at dawn, having given nearly the entire regiment of 400 colonial troops the order to assemble! George Washington personally thanked her, and we do too, in this large original or giclee painting. The symbolic cross she carries , and the image of the flag behind her, warn us to muster prayer protection over America.
